Love the review, i always like looking at and compairing boats like this. strangely my 2 favs are both C-dories.

the C-dory 22 cruiser. its pilot house is about the same size as the Steiger 28's, though it has a full galley up there, sink, 2 burner stove, fridge. trade off is less aft deck space.. both have the v birth, both have the toilet in the v birth, etc.

the other one i've sort of fallen in love with recently is the C-dory 16 cruiser. its an OLD model not produced. but consider this. 19' of the trailer, 7'8" high. that means... it fits in a lot of garages. Has the cuddy cabin with toilet. small 2 seat cockpit. Many give up the fish deck in the back for an aft Bimini top then add in an icebox/cooler, propane tanks, heater, water with water pump in a small kitchen area. and now you have a small 16' trailerable, micro yacht cabin cruiser, that can be parked in your garage over winter. that you can take on weekend or longer trips for fun... and doesn't kill your pocket book with docking fees when you pull into a new port overnight.

seriosuly think of the docking fee's on a 16' footer that doesn't need shore power cuz you're cooking and heating off propane.

Awesome review. Im looking to order a new Maycraft 27 pilot house this fall, but after this review Im definitely going to re think the maycraft. This is a bit more expensive than the Maycraft, but a much nicer finish all around. I also like the deeper dead rise of the Steiger craft

Your A/C or heat vent was coming off so strap that back, I was thinking about this boat for offshore charter fishing here in the South ( gulf of mexico) for the A/C in the piolet house because it gets so dam hot, wish you would have mentioned the fuel tank size and what kind of range it can go but i will look it up, thanks.

I would go with a CDory Tomcat. Fished in one for 5 yrs. Twin Honda 150s. 1.8-2.1 MPG at 25mph. It’s a Cat, so it’s stable. Sleeps 3 -4 in the front bed, and the seating station, turns into a single bed. Has a stand up bathroom, fridge, dual stovetop burner . tons of storage. Added a 75 gallon bait tank in the rear center. Collapsible tuna tower. Check it out. Once in a cat, you’ll never go back.

Excellent 👍 . I'm currently shopping for a house in Eastern Maryland on the water and I'm seriously looking and getting the stieiger craft . My family and I love to fish and we're more about fishing than we are comfort and I want to quote that I can have that's going to last for many years. We will mostly be in the Chesapeake and I'm thinking about the 23 Chesapeake or the 255 Chesapeake with a Yamaha 300 and well equipped for fishing. I have seriously thought about the seakeeper just haven't figured out if I want to spend that much on one or not? Thanks for your review I enjoyed it I'd love to have the 28 but it's a little bit too much but for me and my wife and family.

Great review and very informative content! I have a question regarding the air conditioning, is the the A/C able to run while underway or does it require shore-power? I understand that there are A/C units that have a soft start compressor that can run off batteries. We are asking because we are considering purchasing the 28 Miami for down here in Florida. Thanks

I believe you can get the same boat, if not better in the Defiance Guadalupe 290 with the same motors. They are out of the state of Washington. Lifetime warranty on the hull.
