This looks awesome but what I’m looking for is a wireless backup camera with a receiver that’ll plug into the video-in port on my head unit. Basically I’m lazy and don’t want to run the wires 😂

Its a great idea and thank you for making the video, but I think its a great idea to have some storage capacity (unless it already has that option) so you can also use them as security cameras. Like all in one Deal

I installed the top-end AutoVox wireless backup camera in my Silverado w/ factory tow package about a year before they came out with the solar panel option. I had cobbled up my own solar panel & battery from a 12V solar battery maintainer and parts on hand, but the solar panel is on the inside of the pickup's rear cap window, and the battery tucked in off to one side. It was a lot more work than this! Possibly the only advantage is that the battery is not subjected to the -40 degree winter that takes up 7+ months of the year.
I've been trying to find out from AutoVox if their solar panel, or the license plate frame with built in solar panel & a small battery can be retro-fitted to the AutoVox digital wireless video system I have. I haven't had much luck at getting a reply - not even "yes" "no" "maybe" or "we don't know." I love the AutoVox digital wireless camera(s), but they are a lot more expensive in western Canada than they are in Texas, so I don't want to just dump the system that's had barely one season of use and is not quite a year old. Any information about that on your end? It seems logical that it would be possible, but the devil is in the details.

1. Is the solar panel hides the view on right side? as after attaching panel it appears so close to camera.

What is the exact price for this kit, with the Solar Panel Kit included ? I am purchasing a 1991 22 foot long Class A Motorhome, and I do not want to have to bother with drilling holes, and running all sorts of wires from the Camera to the monitor, and I do not want to be bothered with having to charge the camera battery either. I just want to install the system, and be able to turn it on when needed, without having to do anything else to it.
