42 countries will compete in Eurovision 2019

We finally have another significant update for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The EBU announced the number of countries participating in next year's contest.

A total of 42 countries are taking part, the question is: Who is in and who is out?

Kazakhstan, Lichtenstein and Kosovo will debut
Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovakia, Turkey, Monaco, Luxembourg and Andorra will return

Actually, I am an Indian...and I started watching the eurovision song contest this year through youtube and liked it....but ironically, I watched bones first by Bulgaria and I really, really, really liked the song and supported Bulgaria....then I saw 2016 Bulgaria's performance- 'If love was a crime' and it became my favourite esc song....well along with '1944' by 2010 and 2011 entries were good and I really liked United Kingdom's 2017- 'I will never give up on you' which was good but it deserved a place in top you europeans especiallt Switzerland for this idea and strengthening the unity....I hope Asia also plan a song contest like look forward to esc 2019 in Israel (one of my favourite country)....but yeah....really sad for Bulgaria 🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬 hope they return in 2020 with a bunch of countries like Turkey, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, etc....

To be honest I personally was expecting at least 38 nations in the 2019 Eurovision because of during the summer when so many countries were debating a “boycott”

Im very happy! 42 countries is a very good number, but im still upset because Bulgaria isnt going :(, but oh well... Cant wait for the first song to show up and open Eurovision 2019 season "for real", lets "dare to dream" that this is going to be an even better contest then last year :b

I remember looking up how Germany (my home country) did in Eurovision the year i was born. I was a little sad when i found out that that year was the only time we didnt take part :/
But at least i will never forget that fact :D

Also I'm very happy to see 42+ countries competing for the fourth time in a row! I expected the number to go below 40 with all the calls for boycot, so 42 is a very very good number! Though we will miss Bulgaria :(

Can't wait to go to Tel Aviv to see the city and the Eurovision Village and the arena and everything else that's there during eurovision :)

Well, 42 countries truly is very good number for Eurovision. However i'm not happy about it since i'm bulgarian... And to be honest i'd rather we had not participated in 2018 and participated in 2019 as i know Israel will be great!

I'm looking forward to yours reaction to polish entries at Eurovision. Even though I know that we had a strong contestants for first 4 years and then it started to go downhill. I would still love to hear what you think about it

I would really love to see my home country Ireland win again! Even though it would be our eight time winning i feel like it would be to first win of the modern Eurovision we now know for Ireland and I think we have so much to show!🇮🇪🇮🇪

I don't know if it was just a rumor but I remember in the beginning that Israel (was rumored?) to invite North African and Middle Eastern countries ... was is a rumor? Is that going to happen or have they declined?
