AFP chief sees new fighter jets for Philippine military before Duterte steps down!

A deal that would bring multi-role fighter jets to the Philippine military, one of its big ticket projects, could be signed before President Rodrigo Duterte steps down in 2022, according to Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Gen. Gilbert Gapay on Monday.
The defense department has yet to make public its choice between two types of fighter jets—Saab JAS 39 Gripen or Lockheed Martin F-16V–but Gapay dropped hints it could be the US-made F-16s.

yes griffin is more reasonable, , mas mura ang maintenance cost>>>> at saka kahit pa kukuha tayo ng mga top notch na mga fight jet kung di naman kayang suportahan ang maintenance dahil sa training flying na lang ng ating piloto wala rin. isa pa sa panahon ngayon ibang klasi na ng geyera ang ating sasabakin……….. siguro mas maigi sa unmanned drone na tayo mag invest w/ the latest smart missiles to go w/ it………………….. the most important ay consistent training ng ating personnel sa pagamit ng mga ito……….
