Make in a Day Crochet Chunky Blanket ! So EASY 🤩 🧶

In this video I share how to make a big, squishy blanket using a modified version of the "blanket" stitch. This is even easier and faster resulting in a similar look with a beautiful fabric with excellent "drape".
A 4x5 ft blanket will take approx 6-8 hours of crochet time depending on your speed. For example, each ball took me 1.5 hours to crochet.

As a brand new crocheter, I really appreciate how thorough you are with your explanations where other tutorials gloss over things or omit the info altogether. Thank you also for filming your work up close so newbies like me can see what we are supposed to be doing and for showing EXACTLY where the hook is supposed to go on each stitch. You take your time to show the stitch pattern repeatedly, and what to look for at the end of the row and how to continue to the next row, and that is SOOOO helpful for a middle age newbie like me. You are an EXCELLENT teacher! You have given me the confidence to attempt crocheting again as I had given up on even trying after a disastrous attempt at a scarf years ago. I want to make something for my son as a housewarming gift for his new place so I am going to try making this blanket for his sofa. After watching this video, I am inspired to try crocheting again….and might even try tackling that scarf again at some point too! Thank you for sharing your talent here so others like me can appreciate your work and learn! 😊❤🙏

I discovered the suzette stitch through this video and I made a blanket with the perfect phasing in teal and I want to thank you, because of you I *made* the most luxurious item I own. It’s so wonderful.

I have been loving the Suzette stitch these days. I’ve made bookmarks with size 3 crochet thread. Working on dresser scarves with same size thread. Also cotton washcloths with same stitch. It’s so easy to do on autopilot, like you mentioned, and pretty too. Thanks for this video.

Hey! You helped me trouble shoot my first blanket attempt, and after that it came out beautifully. I have since made SEVEN more of these to give as gifts. Thank you so much for sharing your process and instructions so generously.

Thank you for this! I enthusiastically got a ton of yarn off Amazon and it not as chunky as I thought so my plans went down the drain! Until I found this! This is perfect! I've been toying with crochet for years and while I'll good at the smaller yarns, this will be my first blanket project!

What an excellent video. Clearly explained and filmed. I’m in the UK so will use double and treble stitches. Thanks!

Thank you very much for sharing this lovely afghan pattern with us. I can’t wait to go purchase my yarn and begin this journey. I need a gift for my sister and this will be perfect for her. She lives in a colder climate so she will be able to snuggle up inside this cozy afghan. Blessings to you for the new year. ❤️
