great video DH and shoutout received. Good call on the dry yeast making a comeback. I actually found out recently that a ton of small microbreweries use dry yeast. Definitely a good topic of conversation, cheers!

Excellent advice yet again, David!
After years of using liquid yeast due to limited selection and quality of dry yeast, I’ve now become a regular user of dry yeast whenever possible for the reasons you stated.
Thanks for the shoutout too!

Awesome! I came into brewing after dry yeast was mainstream and I always assumed that liquid yeast was the lesser of the two.

I love your rant on the Armchair Expert, 😂🤣. I'm definitely adding that term to my vocabulary!

Great vid and info! I am a big dry yeast fan. They don’t always have the variety but I can’t complain about the quality!

I love this series :) In particular is was fantastic to see you recommending other good Youtube channels plus warning about bad advice. People are certainly too trusting of forums and pretty Youtube videos, especially when new to the hobby.

I prefer to be a lawn chair expert. (Flimsy at best and easy to fold up and put away) lol Thanks for the recommendation David!! All good stuff! Dry yeast had made house strides in the recent years. Cheers David!! 👍🍻

Yet again, a great video David, in particular the section on the Armchair Expert. This applies to almost all areas in life where the armchair expert creates havoc. Keep educating and enthusing us all.

Yep dry yeast is capable of making fantastic beer, in fact, many commercial brewers use it. I probably use dry yeasts over 50% of the time.
I do buy a sack of pale malt as it can be used in so many recipes but you are 100% right with the buy what you need and buy fresh viewpoint.
I probably do 20+ brews a year so the sack of base malt gets used up pretty quick.
As for the armchair experts, I used to listen to them a lot but now I try things and see how they work. Cheers!

I've started using dry yeast exclusively and not only did my beer get better but it's so much cheaper and easier. I just bought a big bag of yeast and it's probably enough to last for a year.

Beautiful episode especially when describing online armchair experts....funny and realistic! So many in the social media environment should eat some humble pie....
Thanks David, cheers!

Good information David, always enjoy your thoughts. As far as bulk buying goes, I only buy 2-row pale malt which is the basis for many styles. There is one YouTube channel you displayed that, in my opinion, is influenced by the shiny stuff that manufacturers sent to him.

Great stuff David. I mainly use dry yeast and without any issues at all. But I've just started to get into using liquid yeast because I wanted to try Wyeast Ringwood for an Old Thumper ESB recipe and also to learn how to make yeast starters plus do some harvesting in order to save some money!

Especially in the beginning I started bulking up on grains and now I have to find a way to incorporate them. But I think I ll have the specialty grains out of the grain cupboard by the end of the year.

That one nameless channel, they were the channel that got me into brewing, but thankfully I found out about proper brewing practices before I would've wasted money on honey in a stuck brew. I frequent a chat for brewers and it seems like quite often if a new brewer is having issues with their brew it's because they were following one of that channel's recipes
