I don't think that's a Monument, I think that's just the actual spear that Gransax used when he invaded the city.

If you do Fia's questline, you can directly teleport to the capital rampart after her quest.

Be aware. When you drop down to make the final climb up the statue, two archers with explosive arrows zero in on you and don't let up. Not sure how he got by them without conflict.

Not trying to be negative. Just a tip for anyone watching. You can hold your attack and ride past enemy’s dealing damage, with any weapon. Not just the spear.

Without spoilers I want to point out that there is a point in the story where after that you can't get this weapon just like I can't. Get this before leaving the capital to avoid and potential mistakes like I made.

Not sure how I feel about this being the only version of the spell, especially with it being on a weapon that has no faith scaling, and big dex requirements. On one hand, it's great for dex builds, but on the other, it sucks for pure faith builds. The closest thing a faith build gets to this is a regular lightning spear, and the next closest is more similar to lightning stake from DS3. Stilla cool as hell weapon, just wish it, or the AOW was utilizable by faith builds.

You can't get the weapon if Altus plateau gets changed. If you want to have it you should grab it before that happens. Otherwise start new game+.

I would love to do a full lightning build with this and the incantations. This weapon seems amazing for single target, but the lightning spells are almost all AOE, so it would work well together. Just the stat distribution worries me I guess, since you'll be so invested in faith and dex

I respeced just to let my int build wield this thing. My spells hit slightly less hard, but now I can hurl thunderbolts. Good trade.

i havent upgraded my spear, but it feels a bit goofy. it does similar dmg to lightning spear spell, which only requires 20 faith, (which is all i have), but the ash of war drains significantly more fp. idk
