I was hoping he would show us how. I know how you do it by removing the display but every time I do that I damage the display so damaging the back would still be preferable to damaging the display period I wish he had shown us how to do it . what a waste of time

I can confirm earlier comments the Moto G5 Plus is sealed, no way to open back cover. SIM Card accessed with the Motorola tool (Like a fancy paper-clip, but paper-clips are too big). Had to use a large sewing pin to poke to hole to release the tray mechanism.

It looks like replacement battery and replacement battery "kits" ARE out there for the G5+ but the access is via screen removal, not back removal. These are serviceable, but not easily and not without risk. Search for the Motorola HG40 battery.

You gotta be kidding me. Step 1 in the instruction booklet is literally "remove back cover" so that I can insert a sim card...

I've had a Moto G5 and it has spent it's life since new in the box, as I can't get the back off it and it doesn't charge up now. I will never buy another of the Moto mobile phone useless phones as they are absolutely useless.
