Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is a unique vacation destination located in Finnish Lapland, 250 km / 155 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Our accommodation offering includes our world-famous glass igloos as well as premium kelo-glass igloos, snow igloos and cozy log cabins. We are one of the best places in the world to view the northern lights, with the season lasting eight months, from the end of August until the end of April.

Since I was a child, I'd always remembered Mum talking about how she'd love to see the northern lights. As a kid of 7 or something similar, I promised that one day, when I was older, I'd take Mum and Dad to see them. In January of 2018, I took them both to what was the most amazing holiday experience any of us have ever had in our entire lives. Words cannot do this place justice.

Sitting each night in front of an open fire, roasting marshmallows, looking up at the stars... It's just breathtaking! Mum realised her dream on a few occasions and everything was just perfect.

Thank you to all the most amazing staff, its just too magical for words :D

I lived in Oulu, Finland for 6 months as an exchanged student and I LOVED it. I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights three times and I had tears in my eyes every single time. I'd love to go back when our two small kids are older and sturdier when it comes to the extreme temperatures.

I've been there about a million times in my life time (I'm from Finland) and we have a cottage/house about 10km north from Kakslauttanen in Saariselkä. It is the most precious place for me. It truly is something special and there is always something to do, summer or winter. Of course it's filled with tourists during season times and I like to avoid those times. Off-season is the best time to go even if most of the places are closed. The nature is the best part.
