Attorney Ben Crump threatens lawsuit if Florida does not allow AP African American Studies course

A spokesperson for civil rights attorney Ben Crump said on Wednesday he, alongside another attorney and three students, will file a lawsuit over the state rejecting an Advanced Placement African American Studies course.

Crump is set to speak alongside the students at a rally Wednesday afternoon in Tallahassee.

This month, Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration rejected an AP African American Studies course, saying it “lacked educational value.”

A January 12 letter from Florida’s Office of Articulation said, “as presented, the content of this course is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.”

DeSantis doubled down on this stance during a news conference in which he called the proposed course "indoctrination, not education."

African American kids have feelings too. DeSantis say he doesn't want to teach anything that would cause kids( white) to feel guilty about..so he is giving preference to one group of kids( white) and demonizing another group of kids (black)..

Just texted this to my daughter. When she was a child, we had African American History during the whole month of February to first honor Dr King, and to educate them about their history. She's carrying the banner now to a new generation. Thank you to the organizers of this beautiful event. Mr. John Lewis and other forerunners are smiling from heaven. Our Faith will sustain us, with God being for us. They don't get it yet, we will never settle for less than full recognition as citizens of these United States of America that our fore parents died and shed their blood to build; Our men died in wars to defend.

In my state thus far this year, 19 young black men have been shot and killed, I can only guess...BY 19 OTHER YOUNG BLACK MEN. All under the age of 22. I can also assume; these kids were at some point, taught BLACK HISTORY ON THE FEW DAYS THEY ALL ATTENED SCHOOL. I have a problem with the curriculum because it is not complete, there’s no mention of Black Men.
Men and women were on those ships together not just women.
Get it right before you put it out there.
Our history has to be taught, if not that’s discrimination, to long we have been forced to learn everyone’s history except our own. If our children are not allowed to learn their own history then history should be removed completely!
