Elementary school: a planned field trip cost everyone’s parents $10. A single teacher was in charge of the money for whatever reason. Day of trip we are told there won’t be one because the teacher lost the money, she was sooo upset, she felt so bad, blah blah blah. Few days later during lunch 2 of her students need to go back to her classroom for something and overhear her on the phone telling someone how now thanks to her students she had the extra money she needed to attend a friends bachelorette. They came back and told everybody, but somehow staff missed or chose to ignore it (no idea how things played out behind the scenes). A month later the trip had been rescheduled and parents reluctantly turned over another $10 each and once again, for reasons God only knows, this teacher was in charge of it. We plotted and schemed and knew where she kept it. No one cared about the trip anymore (a boring local historical sight) and just wanted her fired for stealing the money and getting away with it. So a few of our bravest snuck into the room during lunch when she stepped out to use the bathroom. Then they redistributed the money amongst the class. Day of trip comes and OH NO! She lost the money again! Thank goodness every kid just happened to have $10 on them lol She did get fired that time tho due to parental outrage at her stupidity and wasting of money. Not sure what every kid told their parents about randomly having $10 on them at school, but in the end no adults really ever questioned what happened. They didn’t like that teacher either
