In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Tilak Devasher, an author, and a retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India. He is currently serving as a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member and a consultant for Vivekanand International Foundation. He is the author of three widely known books based on Pakistan; ‘Pakistan: Courting the Abyss’ (December 2016), ‘Pakistan: At the Helm’ (July 2018), and ‘Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum’ (July 2019).

Today, Tilak Devasher decodes Pakistan’s current situation and also sheds light on what happened during the partition of India & Pakistan. He talks about the history of Pakistan, the real story behind the India & Pakistan Partitions, his honest opinion on present-day India, and what could have been different if the partition didn’t take place. He further dwells upon Muhammad Ali Jinnah and how he led to the partition. Along with that, Tilak sir talked about the present scenario of Pakistan and what is the situation of non-Muslims in Pakistan.

One big difference is that non-muslims(mainly Hindus) didn't ask for separate country so they may not have seen the need to move from Pakistan to India where as overwhelming majority of Muslims voted for partition (in 1946 Muslim League won 429 out of 492) but only few percentage of that migrated(have your cake and eat it too). One got separate account and a joint account where as the other got only joint account

Islam originated from saudi Arabia but -
India has the second largest muslim population on earth
India has most no of mosque in the world
India was Partitioned on the name of Islam
40000 temples were demolished during the muslim rule in India
So many countries which were a part of India in ancient times are now islamic countries
There are 57 Islamic countries, 7 Buddhist, 100 Christian countries but no hindu countries in the world
Because hindus are the ceo of secularism.
Only hindus have taken the responsibility of secularism others are busy in converting people
Still hindus are secular jai hind 🇮🇳 🇮🇳

Muslim and Christian population in India has grown. Is it the same for Hindus and Christians in Pakistan? People can be such hypocrites.

Christianity in India is way more what it should be than it is in North America. Empty Churches, politiczed clergy and lack of real faith in so called Christian countries is apalling! I agree there is persecution in certain parts of India but if you know, there were Chruches vandalized in North America too in recent times for various reasons. Places like Mumbai have such faith-filled and flourising Catholic communities. Feasts of saints and Birthday celebration of Mother Mary is something that I miss out here in Canada. Even Christmas isn't as fun out here as it is in Bandra/Andheri/Malad etc. India has historically been a safe haven for minorities Zoroastrians, Jews, Syrio Malabar(Saint Thomas Christians) fled the terror of a growing violent religion back home that would have otherwise devoured them and came to India for safety reasons.

As a veteran army officer who was born in Delhi 1949 and have seen the after effects of partition and also fought in the war against Pakistan as well as insurgency in Punjab and the Azadi call in the Valley in the nineties, Shri Tilak with his depth of knowledge took me down the memory lane. The thing is people are expecting Modi to be the champion of Buddhists, SIkhs, Hindus, Christians, and Jain's. Basically "you need to aggressively defend what Pakistan opposes", but that's maybe a bit too much on Modi. Even now he's having issues with Canada over radical Sikhs, he didn't choose to have this problem, it got thrown on his desk.

Guys: I went to St. Bonaventure High school in Hyderabad. It is a Catholic run school, one of the best in the district at that time. Many Catholic kids there. Most teachers were Christians. Administration was Christian as well and they were very highly regarded because they were the teachers to the kids of the social elite. Tons of Hindus in Sindh who are doctors, engineers and professionals and live like a professional would live. In Pakistan it is a matter of class, not religion or caste. However, people do use laws enacted by Zia such as Blasphemy law many times to settle scores that have nothing to do actual crime they get accused of. Again these are the cases that make the news. Not that things do not have to be improved in Pakistan. For sure as heck they do but I think the perception in India is very much lopsided to an extreme. I came to the US in very late 80's and I think the divide to get voter banks has gotten way worse now both in India and Pakistan (sects)
