What really annoys me about a show like this is that it aims to give its audience (mostly tweens and sad adolescents) a false sense of reality—a delusion of grandeur, if you will. It seems these kids talk a lot about how they were once a “regular kid” too, but got rich and famous just by doing the absolute bare minimum. In reality, it’s a luck of the draw really. And look what happens to these kids once they strike luck—they become insufferable, entitled brats that keep running on a hamster wheel to stay relevant. What happens when the well runs dry? They’re not talented, so what happens when they get (**gasp!**) old?? As in, their 30s?? 😱 What a great “influence.”
