SpaceX's Starship: Roadway to Mars (2020)
SpaceX, is making Starship, a fully reusable spacecraft and super-heavy booster rocket system intending to transport crew and cargo to the Earth’s orbit, Moon and Mars. It is another brain child of Elon Musk.
It is the only project currently aiming to put humans on the surface of the red planet Mars.
When SpaceX completes the production of their Starship, it will be the most powerful rocket ever created.
Starship will be able to carry 100 tons to low-earth orbit. This is nearly twice as much as SpaceX’s own, Falcon Heavy rocket, which is already the most powerful commercial rocket in active use. It is assembled in
Starship will be the first-ever, completely reusable launch system — wasting only fuel on its journey to space. Elon Musk is adamant that reusability will go a long way towards reducing the cost of launching rockets.
If SpaceX continues to meet expectations, we may see a space industry dominated by the Starship. However, Musk’s goal for the Starship isn’t to create a monopoly, but to make humans a multi-planetary species. SpaceX and Starship might just be the key for humans to go further out into the solar system than ever before.
