At NAMM 2024, we had the opportunity to catch up with a familiar face, Urs Heckmann of U-He. In this engaging interview, we delved into the latest developments, specifically focusing on the eagerly anticipated Zebra 3 and Zebralette 3, a free to download synth with a very interesting visual sound design ethos. Zebralette 3, Urs promised us, is nearly finished, and demonstrated Zebralette's ability to morph and manipulate waveforms in real-time promising incredible sonic possibilities, especially with features like spectral decay and harmonic clustering.

Looking likeanother excellent step forward, here. I remember years ago seeing Urs on the now defunct MacOs Audio (OSX AUDIO?) forums. where Urs was often to be found, and was great to chat with. His enthusiasm for these synths, and his willingness to talk about them and related topics was always refreshing.

Will definitely be getting Zebralette3 when it coes out, and hopefully the full Zebra 3, when that appears.

you know Urs wasn’t going to release new Zebra unless it was revolutionary. this is the next generation of flagship VST synth. the editing tools on the side remind me of Adobe gui. bringing new meaning to the term sound design.

HUGE THANKS for making parameter modulations as boxes and not as separate knobs! This created so much extra clutter in already cluttered Zebra! Hope to see more workflow improvements like this!
