Heidenau Vintage Scrambler Style Motorcycle Tires - Overview

The options for tires on many vintage Honda motorcycles (and other vintage Japanese motorcycles) is fairly limited due to sizing standard changes in the motorcycle industry. You want the style of a vintage tire to keep your bike looking original, but want the performance and handling of a modern tire. The Heidenau vintage scrambler tire is a period correct styled tire that will make your Honda CL350, CL360 or CL450 look like it just rolled off the showroom floor. With a classic scrambler block tread pattern, most of the tire sizes are suitable for front or rear use (just make sure to mount them with rotation direction correctly). What you can not see is that the vintage scrambler tire is made of modern ultra sticky rubber compounds that outperform the tires of the past (and will out perform those cheap-o tires that are rotting on your bike now). Just because this is a "Scrambler" styled tire, do not think that putting them on your Honda CB350, CB360, CB450, CB550 or CB750 is out of the question if this is the look you are after. Tires are tube type and are "S" speed rated which means they are good for 112 mph / 180 km/h at max load and pressure.

You should mention that those are the K34 model tires, excellent for cornering and braking traction.

What size tires should I put on my cl 175? I want the scrambler tires or something I can take on some logging roads.

If you can get the Heidenau K60, this is actually well suited for rougher terrain aswell. In Germany I could try them on my own Honda XL185, aswell as on a friend´s BMW R80 G/S. Although they are Enduro-tyres, they behave very unremarkable on paved roads aswell.

So i have a CL350, its my first bike i've owned in 19 years. You can say I'm new to riding again. I keep reading about people saying for safety sake, use only 80/90/19 fronts and 90/90/18 rears. Is it honestly safe to upsize slightly? i may swap out the front 19 inch for the 18 inch as more options are available.
