Create awesome art in MINIATURE this week with artist Ma Boqin, the art of Bonsai, and Fairy Gardens!

Please consider watching the following short videos:

Materials Needed: scissors, coloring tools, tape or glue, cardboard box (recycled cereal box works great), random materials such as fabric scraps, beads, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, paper, pipe cleaners, etc (anything you can find that you are allowed to use for your art project), random materials from outside (dead or fallen items ONLY) such as sticks, rocks, pine cones.

Miniature Worlds and Fairy Gardens Step by Step:
The two inspirations for our project today are Ma Boqin, a Bonsai artist, and fairy gardens.  Watch the two short video clips linked here for inspiration for this project:
Cut one of the biggest sides off of your box, so you have a shallow box with no top on it.
Sketch out a plan on a scrap paper of what you want your miniature world or fairy garden to look like.
Begin building your world.  Remember, everything you make needs to be miniature.  Think about the SCALE, meaning the size of an object compared to another object.  If I build trees for my mini world, they will be a whole lot bigger than if I put a table and chairs in my mini world.
You can make tabs, or fold over the end of the paper, to make things you draw on paper or cardboard stand up and become 3D.
Add color to your mini world.  Be imaginative and have fun!
