everyone is feeling bad for the movie but the book is actually so much more sad. in the movies you didnt feel bad for the careers because they "ruthless and monsters" but in the books they were just kids. according to the book, it was actually a long time before glimmer died because she was really just sitting there paralyzed and cato was being slowly eating all the way till morning. katniss began to feel bad for him and shot him as he was begging her. also they described cato as a "bloody hunk of meat"

I read somewhere that Cashmere was likely her mentor, and she probably told her to use the bow and arrow on purpose despite not being good. That way she wouldn’t win and suffer the same fate she and Finnick did considering Glimmer was one of the more attractive tributes. Also her interview with Caesar in a deleted scene was sooo creepy.

Explanation: Glimmer (the girl) was a tribute in the hunger games. Im pretty sure she actually was seventeen in the movie. Anyways, she tried to kill another girl named Katniss, and Katniss was up in the tree cutting the tracker jacker hive down. Tracker jacker was a deadly designed bee that was built by the capitol. It can cause severe pain, hallucinations, and death. Glimmer took the hard way and was killed almost immediately.

It was so sad when Glimmer died, because even though she had been trying to kill katniss, she really didn’t have a choice, and you have to consider that if she didn’t, the others would’ve probably killed her. Additionally, it’s sad to think that if she did win, she probably would’ve ended up like Finnick, as her strategy in the interview was indeed to use her attractiveness.
