Human beings are born with different talents. But some people are born with strange talents which can only be described as unique. From the tallest man to the man with the stretchiest skin on earth, we bring you 20 people you won't believe exist!!
Number 20. Tom Stanford
Tom Stanford is a British para-cyclist who suffers from MDP syndrome. Consequently, his body cannot store fat under the skin, and even on the soles of his feet. Surprisingly, Stanford was born with normal metabolism, but at 12 years, he started to lose fat around his face and body. This condition has earned him the Guinness record of the lowest body fat in the entire world.
Number 19. Mandy Sellars
While most people can comfortably flex their legs and move about with ease, this is not the case with British-born Mandy Sellars. Mandy was unfortunate to have been born with a rare genetic mutation that led to excessive growth of both of her legs. He legs which weigh 210 pounds are too heavy for her to move about with comfort. After a long search for the answers to her rare condition, some doctors diagnosed her in 2006 with Proteus Syndrome. This is a rare condition that affects just about 120 people globally. However, Mandy has come out openly to dismiss the diagnosis.
Number 18. Elizabeth Velasquez
If gaining weight is your biggest concern, then you probably won’t fit in the shoes of Elizabeth Velasquez. Elizabeth was born with an extremely rare condition called marfanoid progeroid lipodystrophy syndrome. This condition prevents her from accumulating body fat and gaining weight. She decided to become a motivational speaker to create awareness about her condition after she stumbled upon a YouTube video cruelly making fun of her. Today, Elizabeth is an established American motivational speaker, author, activist, and YouTuber.
Number 17. Gary Turner
How far can you stretch your skin? Well, probably not far, especially if your drink enough water. But you’ll be surprised that Gary Turner, a sideshow performer, can stretch his skin up to 6.25 inches. That’s incredible and has earned him the Guinness world title for the stretchiest skin. This is a condition caused by a form of the ehlers-danlos syndrome. At birth, his midwife figured out that Gary had loose skin, giving a hint to the condition, but no one knew the cause. It was until he was 13 years when doctors discovered that Gary had a genetic syndrome called EDS, which is a rare genetic tissue disorder. It results in elastic skin and flexible joints.
Number 16. Francisco Domingo Joaquim
Talk of a man with the biggest mouth in the world and we have Francisco Domingo Joaquim taking the title. Domingo has surprised many with how wide his mouth can stretch. For a man with a mouth measuring 17 centimeters, you can be sure he can fit in just about anything from soda cans to his wallet, among other items.
Number 15. Tran Van Hay
Vietnamese and herbalist Tran Van Hay is probably the man with the longest hair in the world. Although the Guinness Book of Records never measured his hair, Tran remains recognized for the title. Surprisingly, Tran never had a cut for his hair for the past 50 years and rarely washed it. In fact, Tran who died at 79 years in 2010 would complete a decade without washing his hair. That seems long enough to make your hair stink.
Number 14. Wim Hof
We all try our best to avoid extremely cold weather. But that is not the case with Wim Hof. The Dutch world record holder, adventurer, and daredevil have earned the moniker of the iceman due to his extraordinary ability to withstand extremely cold temperatures. He proved his guts when he submerged himself in an ice bath for nearly two hours and came out alive.
Number 13. Michelle Kopke
In a quest to achieve the smallest waist in the world, Michelle Kopke has shrunk her waist from 25 inches to 16 inches by wearing a corset daily for three years even while sleeping. And even though the 26-year-old German has a smaller waist than that of most catwalk models, she still has plans to shrink her waist down to 14 inches. I wonder what happens to her body organs.
