i love how silver is interpreted in this animatic, it fits the whole awkward and shy personality they give him in the fandub, blaze is pretty cool tho.

Watching it again in this context gives me the vibe that they weren’t in fact in a futuristic hellscape in the cutscene, but actually at a Denny’s and using their imagination.

It’s even funnier when you think even further. The dub squad probably just eat too much Denny’s and that’s where the running gag comes from. In essence, they really are just dorks imagining Sonic characters casually eating at Denny’s and we’re just along for the bro trip vibe.
