These tips will let you know why artists don't choose your furry commission request. Commissioning an artist is hard, you need to get a ref sheet, fill out a document and then tell the artist what you want. Hopefully with these tips you'll be able to better communicate with an artist and have better results getting furry art commissioned.

As an artist, I usually will make people expand by asking questions like “Well what are they doing in this? Is this a full body?” If they say they don’t know what they want them doing ask things like “Well what do you like to do in real life? Where are places you like to visit?”

As someone who does 3-D art and rendering for a small production team it gets difficult when you get 4-10 different things to do.
It’s best to create a waitlist and tell people when they can actually get stuff in and for the people who ordered ahead of time they can be on the waitlist on a higher tier.

my best commissions have been typed in a google doc with pose, background and character references included...the worst have been ones with no references or without a reference sheet. also psst, , , , bad ms paint drawings count as good references too
