Pretty Litter and Pretty Please Review

At a cat owner, I am always concerned about my cat's urinary tract health and I was delighted to be offered a trial of Pretty Litter color changing litter to help determine if they might be needing a trip to the vet. Here is my honest review of the health monitoring kitty litter and also their premium cat food Pretty Please.

Speaking as a doggy person, when I let my little Jack Russell terrier go last year, I knew I was not ready to have another dog, yet. But I did miss having a pet I could talk/rant to, and cuddle. Fish in my two small aquariums don’t cut it. A month ago, I rehomed two (yes two) cats from a heartbroken young woman who was being threatened with eviction (no pets allowed). I have kept her updated with pictures, she and her mother came to visit the cats. Anti histamines help with the allergies and the asthma, but I have had pets for the last 25 years, and they are worth the hassle, so long as I keep them out of my bedroom I have few problems with breathing! My cat uses Tidy Cat Breeze litter system...the one with changeable pads. After many tries, this is the perfect system for our cat! No odor at all, clean and easy!!

I had been wondering about this litter... read reviews and overall I got a "meh" impression. Your honest review settled it. I'm sticking with "World's Best" litter. It really is the best. Natural clumping made from corn husks (without worries of cats inhaling it and sticking in their lungs) that has great odor control and is flushable! Tracking is very minimal and easy to vacuum or sweep up. Give that one a whirl!

I had the same experience with my two cats. I like the litter because it is so lightweight but found that a month’s supply (2 bags at a time) only lasted 10 days at best before the odor was unbearable. I also worry that the fine silica gel could be a respiratory irritant and possibly cause long term health problems. Not a fan. 😕

You would love, love, love LitterRobot! With only 2 cats, you wouldn't have to deal with emptying the box for a week or more. Plus, since the "mess" is totally contained in the bottom reservoir, there is no odor. It will blink when it needs emptied, you pull out the reservoir, pull the bag out, and replace the bag with a regular 13 gallon trash bag! My husband got me one last Christmas....well we have 9 cats in the downstairs area, and they ended up standing in line (literally) waiting to use the LitterRobot. I did have 3 regular boxes in the room also, but they love the Robot. So, my husband got me another one! The reason, I believe, the cats love the Robot is that it stays clean. Every time a cat uses it (the timer is set for 7 minutes) and after 7 minutes, it empties the "mess" into the reservoir, then spins back and refills the separated litter back into the "litterbox". (And no, I don't work for LitterRobot. There is a 90 day (I believe) return period, and they will pay the return shipping.)

Yes people in our catgroup only use this stuff (I'm not sure if there are more brands) as a diagnostic, never as a all the time litter. I have had some silica litter before though without smell issues so it's strange this one does, I suspect the diagnostics negate the usual benefits the clear litter gives you. I'm glad you gave a honest review as per usual. This litter can save lives but obviously not really hygienic or good for your nose.

That's exactly why I stopped using the "fancy" crystal litter. It did the same thing.

Thanks for your honest review on the litter and food. Might try the food. I don't know a cat that isn't fussy. My husband and I are constantly trying to figure out what he likes this week...☺️ So many top brands and lots of money later....not much he does like. Anything new holds his interest for about a day. But we love him anyway.

Thanks for the honest assessment. I saw the ads and considered giving it a try. My girl is SO fussy about her box; if there’s even the tiniest bit of anything left she won’t use it. It doesn’t sound like this would be a good alternative.

The litter didn't work because it was in the bathroom... the moisture in the air soaked into the litter. Works AMAZING for me.

Wow never heard such honesty!!! Monique has never beat around the bush about what she thinks, but still gave a good review of the food where other people wouldn't have done so where they wouldn't have fooled with it being mad about the litter. Great though for diagnostic tool. Maybe they can use this as a improvement tool.

Definitely will try it as a diagnostic tool! ...and the food. "picky" is an understatement with these 2!
