Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD building panels allow you to create a broad range of tile-ready substrates and building elements that are flat, level, plumb, and square. This video will give you all of the details on the variety of panels, profiles and accessories to make your dream a reality. KERDI-BOARD is made from extruded polystyrene foam, with a cement-free reinforcement layer laminated to both sides and fleece webbing that makes it easy to anchor the board with thin-set mortar. The panels are available in eight different thicknesses, ranging from three-sixteenths to two inches. There are specially-configured panels available as well. We also offer a variety of pre-fabricated substrates made of KERDI-BOARD for quick, easy, waterproof installations in showers and bathtub surrounds! Schluter offers a specialized line of profiles designed to fasten, stabilize, and finish the edges of KERDI-BOARD applications. Question - does it have to be tiled? Or can it be finished smooth like drywall? Hard to tell in videos if it’s squishy like foam board? We want to use it in a downstairs enclosure under a stilt home, as a waterproof alternative to drywall (since we live on a canal), but it’s to be used as an office space and recording studio, so tile is definitely not ideal. Any alternative finishing options other than tile?
