2021 Peugeot 3008: Facelift plug-in crossover has plenty of appeal

The Peugeot 3008 has been one of the best crossovers on sale since the current model arrived in 2016. With its 2021 facelift it's now better than ever, and is available with a range of powertrains that include petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid. In this CarGurus UK review, Rebecca Jackson tests the Hybrid 225 model with its eight-speed automatic gearbox. Is it the best 3008 of all?

3 years ago I chose a 3008 instead of a BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA, it has been a superb car. Recently drove from Birmingham to Glasgow non-stop with no issues, the seats are that good.

I have a 2018 3008 gt-line 1.6 165 hp. Eat6.. and I absoluty love it, but I just bought a 2021 3008 hybrid4 ltd. 300 hp. I get it in 6 days, can't wait.. really great Cars! 👍

Love this car!
Just upgraded from a 2017 model of the 3008 to a new Hybrid4 GT line, and what an upgrade. Putting it in Sport Mode is awesome.
Only thing I miss from the previous one(diesel) is the fuel consumption.

But the electric gets us through our daily drive in town which is great. It would be great if this model would come in a full electric!

I’ve ordered the GT PREMIUM 1.6 petrol version, I was going for the hybrid but no garage or handy electric points and charging would be a real pain. I went for metallic black with black pack, I’ve only ever found one photo of one and it looks awesome. I can’t wait for this beautiful beast to arrive, 4 or 5 months dealer reckons.

These Peugeot's have a very nice feel when drive and also the interior materials feel so smooth and premium. I really like the electric versions.

Ι have bough 2nd hand this GT 225hp hybrid version at 50, 000 km at a good price given the level of equipment that includes even a wide range of massage in its seats - I got the leather ones and they are fantastic. I can't tell about overall ownership as it is too early however, this is one of the best cars I have ever driven and I have driven a very large number of cars ranging from e.g. from basic version of Fiat 500 and KIA Picanto up to top versions BMW 5 and X5s and Jaguar XJs. What I liked with the 3008 is that it has indeed the feel of a luxury car without pretending to be a luxury car - this can be your daily driver, even in a crowded, congested city, so easy, so pleasant to drive around. I also think it has one of the best-designed interior spaces ever, with the small steering wheel, the display which works "head up" style (and very beautiful graphics) and the separate screen to the left which I prefer from the latest 2024 3008 version.

Good review. Personally I prefer the previous front-end styling, which I think is lovely. To me this looks a little busy.
But 3008's are fantastic cars.

Thing is Rebecca the wheel sizing, looks as if its running on R18's which for me could be a problem as I prefer R17's, so that extra inch of height gives it smoother control over British roads. Point 2 looks as if it could easily be converted to a Camper Car and that suits me to a T.
