The “wait what were we talking about?” Is strong with me.

“Long story short I…”
*longest story in existence*

This is literally me when I talk to my friends and family. I swear this girl is documenting my life one short at a time.

Context is key. That useless info is just context.

The story of my life! One of my work team made up an ADHD flow chart to explain my storytelling technique!

I've always felt that I was the only one! My brain does not think it's useless information; it's necessary for someone to understand everything involved so they can see it from my perspective. Of course, that is always the hope and wish. The reality is that the other person probably sees it as useless.

"Long story short"
*proceeds to give a back to back TED talk that goes from A to B to R to Z to A to H to B to A*

Very true. Instead of telling a story that has 10 sentences in 10 sentences, I make it a ten page essay that misses the relevant points and has too many unnecessary points and the other person never gets my point.

I always feel like I do this and nobody is actually listening to me tell a story in the first place too, like everyone gets bored with my short long stories 😢

Long story short is the first few bars of Beethovan's 5th. Short story long is what follows, and what a story it is.

Other people rolling their eyes, thinking or saying 'gawd, get on with it). And when We try hard to keep it short.. peeps are asking 100 questions. Ow our brains 😅✌️🙏😊

One key feature: Work in some self-conscious moments where we describe our tendency to birdwalk our stories. It's like 10% bonus wasted interaction 🎉🥳

I want to say, it's such a blessing that Olivia is spreading awareness about how adhd is. When I was her age, I was just "weird." I didn't know about time blindness, adhd paralysis and why some of the things I did were "not normal." I'm a GenXer and it was not easy in school, not understanding that I didn't learn like the others, being told that I'm just rude for being late, and lazy for not getting things done. Sure I pushed through all the labels (like the tough GenXer I was made to be) but it definitely sucked being the odd one, when I was younger. Thankfully, I'm finally to that age of....I don't care. 😁
What? I'm rude for being late? Okay, come get me dressed and moving! No? Then shut it.🙂
What? My house is disorganized because I'm lazy? Okay, come clean for me then. No? Then shut it.🙂
Thank you Olivia, for showing this old gal that she was not weird or odd when she was younger, the world just didn't know/understand ADHD was a very real thing, back then. I watch your videos and sometimes STILL learn...wait, that's from my adhd too?! 🤦‍♀️ Lol
Keep spreading awareness!! ❤❤❤

Oh my god im so glad I'm not the only one. My dad just ends up walking away since I take to long and there is too much detail and not of the actual story 😂😭

Damn right it’s better. Otherwise the story would be up for assumptions repeated as fact. I just answer all the “questions” before they asked.

I have been able to show all your shorts to basically help my wife understand how I work. Lol thanks!
