In this video I show you how stereographic projection works and how you can map spheres onto 2d planes and even make some really neat photographs!

This channel and Kurzgesagt are definitely my favorite science channels. They're just so calm!

I have a question that why do atoms of elements contain neutrons if they can exist without them. For ex- Ordinary hydrogem atom

Is the reason the Action Lab kits are back is that the shaving cream experiment is now possible since Mr. Action is no longer shaving (as evidenced by his beard and mustache) and therefore his (rather large) personal supply of shaving cream is now available for science? (lol) Hey, Just kidding I'm enjoying your videos... A class assignment was to write a ray-tracer in my graduate computer science graphics course way back when, and it covered projections, it was neat to hear you revisit some of the subject matter.

This is such a cool explanation of these. I use stereographs all the time in my geology classes and I feel like this would have helped a lot when I was first introduced to stereographic projections

On the topic of map projections, 1:55, take a look at the Dymaxion Projection. It keeps proportions and scale roughly accurate by sacrificing location. it cuts the earth along bodies of water to unfold it into a flat plane

on the 2d map the poles are actually stretched over all the un an down sides. it brings their value to infinity which is what dividing by zero actually means.

This is a brilliant piece of illustration to explain this information.
