How can we avoid overtrading?
1) We have limited willpower - we have a reserve of willpower (discipline) throughout the day and it gets eroded each time we make a decision. The more you trade, the more you're depleting your reserve.
2) It leaves you drained for other opportunities. Sitting in front of a screen is hard to sustain for a long period.
3) It can activate fear, frustration and greed.
4) The more frequently you trade, the less profitable you are going to be.
5) If you're overtrading you are unlikely to be sticking to your trading plan.

Over trading and revenge trading are definitely my biggest weaknesses. I would triple my money with a healthy mind to lose it all in the same day by becoming greedy. My new trading plan will be sticking to a max of 1 trade / day. Even when the trade is a loss (probably definitely then) stop trading altogether for that day.

Put 30% on my account last 3 days but gave 10% back today by overtrading. It feels like the market knows how much profit you made and it knows to fight against your every move. All trades failed today bar a quick $12 and $5 profit when i nudged the sl into profit. :D Lost $50 and still have two trades open which were just lingering. I was so tempted to invest in USRT (REIT's) but freaked myself out and decided not to, a few hours later it had soared back into range :(
