One thing I've learned about dealing with addicts. They will not receive the offered help until they are ready to. I honestly don't think Rebecca wants to change. No matter how much we want him too.

This is help to stay in USA, it is not help to get healthy. He can get medical help with expired visa. He did when he overdosed on fentanyl.

I really have an affinity for Rebecca. I truly feel she’s genuine about who she is, good or bad and it always makes me sad seeing her suffering. When Mark has interviewed her when she’s happy and having a good day she has a smile that you know is genuine and makes you smile too. I really wish she would accept help BUT SHE IS NOT READY even tho she says she is, her actions speak louder than words. As an ex addict, I know that it doesn't matter how much help comes your way, if you're not ready, you're not ready. You'll say "yes" cuz you know that's what pple want to hear but you really mean to say "no". I've been clean and sober for 7 years now and I'm so happy. I wish I can save pple and make them see how great it is to be sober but an addict will bring you down before you can bring them up. And it's even harder when there are mental health issues, which most addicts have. Most are self medicating. First thing she needs is detox not housing (although that's important), not a job, not a sex change like I've heard Rebecca ask for. She needs to be clean for a substantial amount of time in order to accept mental health help. They go hand in hand. I pray she gets the help she so desperately needs. She is articulate, creative, eccentric and naturally beautiful (when she's sober) It would be so sad and such a waste if, God forbid, she passed away like so many addicts do. I just pray that doesn't happen to her.

I'm currently looking for help myself with my own problems and it takes a lot to say out loud what the problem is and asking for a solution. I have got to a point I'm tired and embarrassed and I'm doing the work. I hope Rebecca bounces back and never look back. Mark thank you for sharing this.
