I've taken it on a few drives now and I'm blown away. It perfectly maneuvered around construction and maintained the route, and it left me just smiling like an idiot

1st 5 mins in, that was CRAZY how it maneuvered around cars, and changed lane also like human...Wow

What I liked the most is that you can influence FSD without taking over completely. If you put a blinker on while it runs, it will attempt to respect your command (if you want it to leave the passing lane for instance). Or in the city, if it hesitates too much you can press the accelerator a little bit to indicate confidence (for instance of another drive waves at you to signal you to go)

The reason the new full self driving is worth it to me is night driving. There are many drivers who are not confident driving at night. This new system gives drivers like me the freedom to drive at night. Before your free sample expires you should do a video of its night driving. If you were impressed by it’s daytime driving, multiply that times two at night. It will surprise you because it sees things at night the driver does not see.

Great video. I know you are not a FSD die hard so hearing a REAL opinion of the product is welcome.

I’m sure many of you have noticed, but you don’t need to add pressure to the wheel for the car to know you’re paying attention. You can simply just scroll either the left or right scroll wheels

Welcome to the party. FSD is advancing rapidly. I use FSD about 95 to 98% of the time. I average about 60k miles per year. I’ve had FSD since ‘21. Reduces the stress of driving and much safer, 8x than an average human driver. The robots are here.

I have a 2022 MYP. In Oct 2022 I bought a 1 month subscription to FSD and it scared me to death. I used it one day and that was enough. I just got the complimentary FSD same day as you, drove 60 miles through round about, highway, and side streets and I had 0 interventions. I was blown away to be honest. It's improved a ton. I'm not spending 12k though. I may pay for a subscription if I go on a long trip.

Your tangent on your “friend” that rags on electric cars was gold. Loved every bit of that. Know several people like that myself.

Also, Brother is still the funniest non-scripted YouTube reviewer.

FSD subscription and Tesla insurance should be bundled.

It is so much better! After using FSD for over 2 years it is finally starting to feel like what was originally promised/expected. Version 12.3 is the first time my experience has given me hope that it could actually come to fruition. Fingers crossed...

great video!, here's my perspective on it after owning fsd for 2 yrs, for me personally it's worth every penny for a few reasons, 1) when driving in new regions, cities, or highway overpasses, it always chooses the right lane and fork, i never have to look at a map and even if you have gps and the lane markings showing in the nav without fsd, it's still super stressful to have to figure out road signs, one way roads, lane exits, onramps, airports etc in 1-3 seconds on the fly. I havent had to do that in 2 years which is unbelievable. 2) I drove from east coast to west coast california 2 weeks ago and without fsd i would have only been able to drive 4 hours max, it's just mentally exhausting, i was able to actualy do 8-12 hrs of driving a day for 4 days without breaking a sweat or feeling uncomfortable. 3) It's hard to convey but i doubt i'll ever own another car letalone non-tesla without fsd going forward, I've grown so use to it, it feels like going from GPS to using road maps for everything. Also being a technology fanatic helps and making enough money that 10k isnt a big deal. Dont most bmw owners pay 10k in optional upgrades on average?

Why pay $12, 000? Because I'm old, my reflexes are slow, I have driving anxiety, I travel endlessly and like to doomscroll on Twitter or watch cat videos. Personally I like to drive, but I'm 62 and I'm moving steadily toward all of those categories.

Going out Ubering several times per week with FSD exclusively. Most people don’t even know the car is driving itself. Big improvements of late, and the pace of improvements seems to be accelerating. I went months and months without an update, and have now had two or three within the past coupla weeks.

Parking is enabled, just need to do a separate operation by confirming a spot, a bit clunky, but I can see the future it will be seemless.

FYI, when prompted instead of grabbing the wheel you can just scroll the volume ball on the steering wheel to let FSD know you’re paying attention. 😎

I have a 2023 Model Y with Enhanced Autopilot. I've been using the free trial FSD for 3 days and like Gjeebs I'm really impressed! I've only taken over a few times; once for following too close on a country road and once for almost running over traffic cones due to a closed lane. FSD handles 95%+ of my driving situations well, including country roads with no right line. It handles roundabouts well, and I was impressed it moved over to pass a guy on a scooter.
I agree with Gjeebs that it's not worth $12K. I can see subscribing for a long road trip.
