It’s annoying hearing people justify bad food by saying “I’m here for a good time, not a long time”
But once they start developing health issues, their time changes real quick.

I stopped drinking sodas back in 2013. A month ago I decided to cut all juices & alcohol and drink water only. Two of the best decisions I ever made.

Fast food isn't a cheaper option anymore anyway

The worst is foods marketed as "low fat" that have significantly higher sugar levels. I even see "fat free" on labels for candy.

Once I started cooking all my food and only eating real food excess fat has just melted off. I basically don't have to do anything to maintain a proper body composition.

If the big sugar companies are doing that image what big pharmaceutical companies and government agencies are lying to you about lol

One day after considering my diet choices while looking at my body. I thought of what I REALLY wanted. I've tried to lose weight for so long. But that time, it clicked. It's sugar!
I told my girlfriend and I held my lumps aggressively. I told her a couple of times: "it's the sugar!!"
Few months pass, very little physical activity. I eat fatty foods like a pig.
I'm down 40 lbs.
Many symptoms of adhd just started to become less pronounced. And I have so much energy.

As someone who doesn’t drink soda, it’s hard for me to understand why so many people like it so much, leave alone being addicted to it.

I'm from Europe and we are shocked about the stuff the US people eat, and how uneducated they are when it comes to food. The prime example is Bread, why does the US Bread contain sugar? The same accounts for ready meals, or semi ready meals like pre made sauces. We don't need experts in Europe to tell us how bad sugar is, everyone knows it and we grow up with it and learn to check packages for sugar content and how to calculate it.

It's almost like corporations are financially incentivized to retain recurring customers...shocker.

One time i had a friend staying with me in the US from Copenhagen, Denmark (Europe) and after going to the grocery store a few times to stock up for a couple days he said something like “Man how come in America you have to pay more for less ingredients?” ….. that was a good 4-5 years ago and i think about it every time im in a grocery store😔💯

That's why when I'm feeling lazy, I just cook eggs. Way better than any ultra-processed foods.

I quit drinking 15 years ago. Quitting sugar is harder.

Fascinating insights! This historical perspective really underscores the importance of transparent labeling and consumer education to combat industry manipulation. Awareness is key to making healthier dietary choices. 👍
