Silk Inroads Wagga Wagga NSW

Показать описание
Silk Inroads was a collaborative project with Wagga Wagga's diverse communities to explore the visual heritage of the ancient Silk Road and the creative translation of beautiful ceramic tiles from Afghanistan, Iran, India and Uzbekistan, into contemporary needlepoint.
Lead artist Natalie Fisher worked with more than 70 members of the local community. Each participant stitched a unique design from a tile image they chose. The result was a wall of 90 stitched tiles that represent the visual heritage of the ancient Silk Roads. It was on exhibition at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery in March 2022.
In this video we see the process over four months, from workshops to exhibition.
