Great take on an old rhythm & blues song, composed and recorded at the end of the '50s, later to be covered by some musical acts such as the Beatles, the Flying Lizards, or Buddy Guy. This here rendition is from a live performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London: Blues Night, by Eric Clapton & Friends.
Buddy Guy is basically singing and playing the whole song, being backed up by Eric Clapton (and probably Robert Cray as well) in terms of rhythm guitar. Buddy's soloing on this take is truly magnificent. The performance has a dynamic approach that sets it apart from other renditions, including Buddy's other takes on it.
Otherwise, I do not hold the rights for the audio of the song, neither for the few pictures of the great two blues masters that are inserted into the video. The video is intended for educational and entertainment purposes only, and the idea is to make some great musical moments available to wider audiences, and I guess Eric would appreciate it, being such a humble man.

The wild guitar doesn't sound like Clapton, because his playing is more structured even at high speed. But this doesn't even sound like all the Buddy Guy stuff I'm used too. Anyway it has to be Guy on lead. I hear EC hitting a few notes outside the chords, but I guess that's him on Rhythm. How many players can back down EC from taking the lead? I guess it's just that Buddy is so aggressive on this one. I think EC is one of the greatest artists period in this world, but for this song I don't think anyone ever topped Barrett Strong. Sometimes a simpler approach gets it.

This is a great version. Check out Stevie Wonder's--it might just be the best.

Buddy Guy is a great guitarist and entertainer. I've seen him twice, wouldn't mind seeing him a third time.

Great gig ! My favorite version has always been by the Kingsmen with Mike Mitchell on a fabulous lead guitar solo circa 1963 . RIP Mike .
