I just watched your videos, it great to see someone with a love for the old green machines. There were just that little bit different. I'm definitely going have to find all the old bits of mine and see if it still works, it will be 10-15 yrs since the last time I turned it on!

If you are still able to use this, I recommend making an image of the HDD and using a CF card in its place. It'll last longer. And if you use 98 on there, I would recommend installing the 98lite Add-on.

Realize I'm necro-posting but you might want to check that drive for stiction (that is, the platters may not be spinning freely anymore). If you can remove the drive, hold it perpendicular to the ground and turn it in a twisting motion, that might free the platters.

Honestly though given the age of that drive you might be better off looking into an IDE->Compact Flash adapter or a new-old stock drive off eBay.

Of course, for all I know this computer's in the garbage now.
