PRACTICE TIPS:
Copy what I sing right from the start of the video. Repeat right after me.
Follow my voice through the world of scatting.
With this fun exercise, you'll get into the right mood to discover the fantastic world of SCAT SINGING & VOCAL IMPROVISATION.
Learn the scat syllables like a new language and tell stories with your voice, while you follow my lines and the music with your ears and eyes.
Breathe easy and natural, don't stick to the syllables on the screen.
It's just a little help for beginners.
Train your ears, voice, and style with this fun chapter of improvisation.
Don't stare at the screen to get the syllables, rather use your ears!
Repeat the practice now and then, it will become easier and easier for you.
If the scat phrases are too tricky for you, simplify them by focusing on the melody OR the syllables.
The breaks are always long enough so that you can sing along my scat lines altogether. You have missed the right starting point if they do not fit in.
When you've reached the point, where you can sing all the lines, try to focus on the harmonization (as you hear it in the repeating voices)
Song:
"Sunny" (Music by Bobby Hebb)
Backing Track:
Key: A minor
Bpm: 170
