Sure do miss this show. And Car Talk, too. My Saturdays haven't been the same.

The first time I heard the News From Lake Wobegon was in 1998 on NPR radio. I used to study English that time. I was advised to listen to something interesting in English. So I accidentally heard his show on the radio. Since then my English is mush more better thanks to him and his shows.
His shows are not just about funny stories, it is also about good music and poetry. And of course his stories are not just funny, but they are cozy and warm.

It was so amazing how many hats you wore for all those years you made A Prairie Home Companion.
Thanks for all the belly laughs and for helping me to feel peaceful, grateful and civilized.
Happy Holidays! ❤

We need news from Lake Wobegon more than ever. It is a national treasure.

I loved listening to his show every Saturday, and whatever was going on in our household always came to a stop while he did these segments. Regarding his transgressions, NPR was way too heavy-handed when they removed all the episodes from their site. The shows are simply too important a national resource for them to discard and should live on!

Always great to hear from him. Saturdays, haven't been the same without him.

I live in Australia and I listened to GK from the mid seventies up until he stopped. He is truly a genius at what he does. Unique. I doubt that he would ever see these comments but if he does I hope he realises there are people all over the world that admire him and his abilities.

These monologues need to be brought back, even if only on the Internet. It would help to keep us sane in dangerous times.

Thank you so much for posting. I grew up in Lake Wobegon, so I so enjoyed the stories from my home town. I liked how you changed the names to protect the innocent. LOL Intelligent on point humour. Sadly missed today. Keep posting so I can reminisce of my old days in Wobegon, while I listened to your show.

My friend Hank stopped and shook your hand yesterday, in the BNA Nashville, TN airport. I appreciate your humor and story telling! I appreciate Hank for telling us about you! Safe travels!

For many years I would listen to Garrison Keillor on Saturday night at my home in Austin, Texas and always knew my father was listening to this show in Beaumont, Texas at the same time. It was one of those long-distance cultural bonds that we always had. Taking him off the air was a very Chinese Communist "Cultural Revolution" thing to do, where everything and everyone good was condemned until the only people left to rise to the top, and who then ruled with malevolence, were the most ignorant and mean-hearted of the lot. I am also reminded of the Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life" where the boy would banish the adults to the cornfield if they dared to say something he didn't like, and simply created at constant state of terror. Thank you, Garrison Keillor, for so many years of elevated entertainment. You are a national treasure.

My parents would winter in Florida, I would spend weekends at their house. I would have a log fire set in the fireplace, a standing order at a local pizza place, pick that up, light the fire, turn down the lights, turn on the radio to NPR. did this for YEARS . magic.

A genius story teller! It's disgusting what NPR did to "punish" him and all his listeners.

I will always be a fan of Garrison Keillor ! A masterful, comedic storyteller of everyday people we all know. it's the conversations you have on a lunch break or by the water cooler. His sense of humor and gossip causes us to see ourselves in his stories. I loved the movie as well. Thanks for the many years of entertainment.

Having lived in Minnesota, I admit I get Garrison's humor & I wonder if others do. Their sense of humor is distinct for sure. The running jokes were about Norwegian Lutheran bachelors. Fun, really.

Dear Garrison, it's such a pleasure to see and hear you again ! You look great, like a young man... Bravo ! I miss your shows on MPR and The Farmers Almanac you had on WNCN. But thank God there is internet now and you are with us again.
