The engine in my third generation, Toyota Prius had a bad head gasket, so I did a JDM engine swap. In this video, I do a review of how the new JDM engine is doing, and let you know how much it costs to do an engine swap, and what other things you should know. If you have a Toyota Prius that is in good shape, but has engine problems, it may be worth it to get a low mileage JDM engine from Japan and do an engine swap on your Toyota Prius. In Japan, most cars are scrapped when they get 100,000 km on them, which is 62,000 miles, so the engines are still good, and the junkyards send them to America, where mechanics use them as cheap replacements for worn out engines on old cars. In this video I show you my Toyota Prius, and the new JDM low mileage engine that I had put into the car. You’re also want to consider replacing the water pump when you do the engine swap because water pumps are the main reason these engines fail.

I have a gen 3 prius, it’s a 2015 with 150k miles and zero issues. The 2015 have different pistons & rings.

A whole new engine was cheaper than replacing a head gasket? 😂
