The Look Of Love
Madonna
Who's That Girl [Soundtrack 1987]

Lyrics:
Should have left you standing right where you stood
Should have let you go, should have had the sense to know
Like a train you'd come, and I'd lose my place
Now I'm on this trip, I took a fall from grace

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, from the eyes of pride
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

I've had a map laid out from the day I was born
But the roads are blocked, and the paper is worn
And all the books I've read, and the things I know
Never taught me to laugh, never taught to let go

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, from the eyes of pride
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

My conscience is clear I know right from wrong
That's a lie I know nothing except that you're gone
But there's more to learn from the look in your eyes
That trip round this world, the stars in the sky

Now all the books I've read, and the things I know
Never taught me to live, never taught me to let go

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, from the eyes of pride
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, Lord knows I've tried
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

[Nowhere to hide]
[No place to run]
[Nowhere to hide]
[No place to run]

This is Madonna's best song in my opinion. The smooth melody, lyrics, her voice and the instrumentation. It's perfect!

I miss 80s Madonna so much. She was so ethereal and moving. Just beautiful.

This truly is one of Madonna's best songs that doesn't get much recognition!

I love this song because it shows a touch of vulnerability in Madonna, who usually presents herself as invincible...the contrast is moving and exquisite

Why has such a fantastic track been so underrated & forgotten ?? Agree with comments, miss this Madonna !! Forgot the title, but remembered some of the lyrics, & found the track !!

And if you can catch her performance of this gem on the WTG tour, I guarantee you'll be in tears by the end. Her voice is just so raw and real and honest. Pure gold.

Stunning song. Been listening to Madonna all week and am amazed at how brilliant her stuff is. It really does hold up after all these years. I think she may have one of the finest melodic sensibilites in pop. Ever. And I am not joking!

Was 8 years old and loved this song that wasn't played much. Played it to death on my vacation to Florida winter 88 on my Walkman. Man I miss the 80's and the wonderful memories of being in Florida 👼🏻

After listening to mostly Hard Rock for over the past 50 years I discovered that I also love me some Madonna! I love this song right from the beginning notes. Just discovered my love for Madonna at the beginning of January 2020 and purchased all of her Studio releases on vinyl and CD! And I can't believe all of that happened because of hearing one song on the radio stations as I was scanning through different channels. And that song was Get Into The Groove, and that blows my mind and leaves me mystified because I have never cared for that type of music before! I gave up on trying to figure myself out and why I suddenly love Madonna So I just enjoy the ride and go with the flow. Madonna 20/20 and on.

This plays when Griffin Dunne as Loudon is by himself walking in the night as he knew he lost Nikki and the cat tiger.

Then after a while, He goes to Sir John Mills' building.

And surprisingly, Nikki and the cat tiger were there. 😇💖💖💖
