Hi guys, do you use your auto start/stop in your defender? It seems that the culprit is the battery which is being undercharged by the alternator when using start/stop function. The software and algorithm isn’t finely tuned so when a significant amount of start/stop cycles on short city driving the battery isn’t fully charged causing accelerated cell degradation making the battery refusing to accept more charge causing it to throw error codes on some modules even at just 12.0Volts.

That actually happened to me about 3 weeks ago. I thought the disconnect the battery option may work but also the JLR dealer is about an hour away so either way it needs to get to the dealer. As it was under warranty, I just had them tow it in and then they had to pay for my Uber the next day to pick it up. But this is great to know in case there is a similar issue.

Heard from JLR that there is now a fix for the MY 24 vehicles experiencing the loss of power steering. MY 23 hopefully by end of April! See your local dealer! lol

Justin no real communicated fix yet from JLR. I’ve been told they are working on it but not yet. 24’s first then 23’s. Just my 2 cents
