Valve covers should be black. Orange, black, and polished aluminum is a good look.

The block should be orange, the heads should be silver (retro look) and the valve covers should be silver with the 3 fins polished to match the supercharger. Also you should replace all fasteners (bolts) with the same finish on them, (polished, anodized, stainless steel) . Don’t wrap the rubber hose on the engine. Buy all new braided lines with black fasteners and use black spark plug wires, theirs your black for constrast.

If you're going for period correct, then you should do orange valve covers but make the Chevrolet lettering on the top black.

I think black would look good because it adds contrast. As long as the engine has bright colours anywhere black accents will look great

Should do the valve cover black but do the inside of the grooves on the cover orange to complement the orange underneath without there being too much orange.

Wait you want it to look like a big block Chevy, like the color scheme? Definitely have to go with Chevy Orange on the block and heads and valve covers black or polished. But if you really want it to look like a big block Chevy, you should purchase one :P

Orange looks good i always do black oil pan and valve covers just adds a little more to it

Black will make the blower stand out.
I would do black with orange stripes.
