Jasser lost me in the first few seconds of his interview when he called Sheikh Bin Bayyah a salafi. The aforementioned scholar is a Maliki Sufi, far from what the ignorant interviewee is asserting.

It seems the Sunnah and Qur'an should be sufficient for a person to know Islam. You are likely right about knowing any Muslim since no one seems to agree on understanding the Sunnah, let alone being able to understand the Qur'an, which claims to need no interpretation from outside itself, and because it claims to be the perfect book. We cannot therefore use Muhammad practices and sayings to interpret the Qur'an. Muslims are either true, or false.
