Learn To Decode A Master Lock 5400D Realtor’s Key Box

If you live in North America you will see these used in many different applications such as real estate, property management / rentals, and many other applications. You may wonder how secure these methods are. Today, I will show you how with the right tool and a little practice you can decode and / or recover your own code if you have forgotten it.

Please remember to never decode a lock which you do not own or do not have permission to decode. This is a useful skill to acquire but please only use it on your own locks.

Ty helped a lot, we had this on our house but nobody remembered the code, I tried guessing but no luck, I was about to take it off but I gave it a try and second or third thry I got it.... I used random metal nail file to put tension and it wasn't the same brant but worked am happy

We have one of these in my office. The combination was lost years ago. I've been trying ones I thought it might be. (I'm in glasgow so the first two were obviously 1888 and 1690 which didn't work). Every few days I tried a few other numbers, in no particular order or series. After watching your video I decided I was going to buy a pick so I could get it. But in a last ditch attempt with the tools I have, I used one of those little flat mobile phone sim card tray openers. It wouldn't fit in beside the dials so I shoved the pin end down the bottom of the little switch applied a little pressure and started twiddling the dials. They sort of jammed when it was at 1337. I took the sim card pin out and pulled the little switch down and it opened up! I've reset the code to something every Rush fan would remember. The original code 1337 seemed somehow familiar to me so I googled it. Its geek code for leet meaning elite. So I guess it was installed by one of our IT guys.

I found the jet board door open. When I enter my code I can push down the side button but the padlock doesn’t open. If someone changed my code why the button goes down? When I try any other number it doesn’t go down. Help please.

Thank you for this video! I can't get my lockbox open and have been trying every code I can remember. Based on your video, I bought a pick but somehow bought the wrong one, PR-SS - Peterson Reach Stainless Steel Slender 0.015 Pick, instead of the Peterson 7. It isn't working, do you think I can get it to with this one or do I really need the Peterson 7? Thank you, again!

I don't know if he has an older model of this lock but I have 2 of them and the pick doesn't fit between the combination wheel and the housing.
