These are the highlights of the first half of a 5 hour build of the PiDP-8/I, a 2/3 scale replica of the PDP-8/I and powered by a Raspberry Pi. It covers the first 2.5 hours, including preparation and soldering of 27 diodes, 15 resistors, 89 LEDs, an IC and a 40-pin connector.

Most of the actual soldering (450 joints total!) was obscured by my left hand and has been left out. After doing an LED smoke test, I forgot to start recording again — the last 2.5 hours included soldering 26 switches and mounting everything in the case.

What decisions did you make about connecting power? What Pi did you use, and are you using wifi?
