On this episode of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Shahbaz are joined by Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Micaela Diamond from Ryan Murphy’s new horror drama series, Grotesquerie.

Detective Lois Tryon suspects that a series of heinous crimes in her small community are eerily personal—almost as if someone, or something, is taunting her. At home, she grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care, and her own inner demons. With no leads and nowhere else to turn, Lois accepts the help of Sister Megan, a nun and journalist from the Catholic Guardian. As Lois and Sister Megan connect the dots, they become ensnared in a sinister web, raising more questions than answers.

The series stars Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Raven Goodwin, and Travis Kelce. Grotesquerie premieres Wednesday, September 25, at 10 p.m. on FX with the first two episodes, and will stream the following day, Thursday, September 26, on Disney+ in Canada and Hulu in the U.S. @FXNetworks @hulu @disneyplus @WaltDisneyStudiosCanada

LOVE Micaela Diamond. I saw her on Broadway last year in "Parade" and she sang and acted beautifully. This is such a departure for her and she's so good in this show.

I get people saying he seems like he takes himself too serious in a sense that he has a blunt face when listening to the interviewers or co-cast, he almost seems like zooming out, but i strongly feel like he’s just nervous (he fiddles with his fingers a lot and picks on his nails) and probably very intensely listening and processing what the others say without putting on a forced smile while doing so, maybe that’s just how he is. you can see it’s different when he engages with Micaela directly, he probably feels more comfortable with her because they really have gotten to know each other over the course of working together. i am the same way, get told i seemed arrogant or disinterested when people first met me, i just need some time.
