Sound Accademy - The Hustler (Disco Frisco Mix) [HQ]

Italian House producer Don Carlos has released his work under a handful of collaboration aliases, with Moonlight Orchestra being one of my personal favorites. Sound Accademy was a one-off collaboration between him, Stefano Lucato, Mauro M.B.S. , Cut Master T, Simone DJ, and Al Barbero.

This release seemed to be particularly elusive, as while the title is fairly simple, the name "Sound Academy" is frequent among other groups and businesses. And if you don't type "Accademy" with two c's, it wouldn't come up with this track.

HD Recording using Audio Technica AT-LP120XBT + AT-VM95SH Shibata Needle. Converted in Audacity.

Heartfelt thanks to released4pleasure for initially having an archive up on YT, and to Groovy69 on Mixcloud for pointing me into the direction!

Strength Records, 1994 (Italy)

this is the type of music that keeps me bumping in the menu screen in racing games before I actually play the game

This sounds like that would fit in perfectly in the PS1-PS2 era of Ridge Racer games!!

This is peak early 90s house music. I just picture Street Fighter or some other 16-bit video game when this plays.

And here I was thinking when I first listened to it that it would become a “lost media” iceberg collection of music samples, thank you for your service.

This sounds more like a "Choose your character" in a fighting game.

this song came on as I got to the end of my bike ride today. it was the perfect soundtrack for a photo finish, I was there beaming through the cold, end of a journey, elated.
recognizing the curves in the road, the familiar bumps from stones on the path, seeing the town & church i've rode towards many times before.

50km Paris - Meaux, left at 8am 'fore the sun in -3°C.
Jan 14th 2024 I officially retire mon beau poulidor gris, l'eternel second. an old 2nd hand VTC, nothing special, gift for my 18th.
Took that bike across half of France, rode 1200km together since just last may when I started taking cycling more seriously.
Spring Summer Autumn & Winter
Im so grateful for all those early mornings and beautiful landscapes and skies it carried me through.
rain wind snow fog mud heat dust & bugs, we got through it all.

one last pilgrimage to the cathedral of Meaux,
gears broken stuck in 2nd speed, frost in my beard, chain guard fell off, the screws simply disappeared, water bottle froze over, front brake loose as always. even the bell rusted off.
done spent 3 years constantly battling this bike's ailments and nursing it back to health. took it to so many mechanics who said it was on its last leg, that it was a cheap piece of junk that can't handle what I had in store for it, that they could only extend its inevitable demise by a month or so.
well they were right because time always creeps forward, but I'll be damned if you say I didn't give this bike my best efforts and believed it could keep pushing just a bit further.
that's all cycling is about.
just one foot in front of another. and don't lose your sense of balance.
keep on hustlin' or the cold will set in.

Aug 5th 2023 we went up a couple (small) peaks. 1300m elevation that day.
going insane laughing & crying up a mountain.
"poussons soldats, poussons!"
made it to the top and could see the sun over Lyon
and then downhill through the steep vines of Beaujeau with a duct-taped front brake through the rain.

they thought we could only get 600km outta you so I went and did the double.
my valiant steed
j'aimerais toujours ce beau vélo.

This song is perfect for any Fighting Game, surely Capcom use this as an inspiration for Dudley's Theme on SF3.

Funny how people discover garage house from 90s this one in particular have the italo house flavor which is very soulful and melodic. Rip to Mauro lorenzetti who did this remix

Immediately downloaded. By the way there’s tons of obscure amazing songs like this if you go through old DJ records. They usually go for $.50 to two dollars a pop at pawnshops and even music stores.
