Hosts Discuss Episode 4 "Wife"

AFTERBUZZ TV — UnREAL edition, is a weekly "after show" for fans of Lifetime's UnREAL. In this episode hosts Aja Seldon, Samantha Davidson, Bobby DeMuro, and Nicholas Grava break down episode 4 of Season 1. Set against the backdrop of the hit dating competition show "Everlasting," "UnREAL" is led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Appleby), a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with, and among, the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Zimmer), demands. What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and being a producer a whole other reality.

I love how Rachel has so many facets to her personality.  She is vulnerable, crafty, cunning, unpredictable, emotional, manic, psychologically scarred, and so interesting to watch.  Rachel is the driving force of the show, but since I've watched the Bachelor shows in the past, the plot of this show is fantastic. Back-stabbing, double-dealing, and meltdowns to entertain all in this series.

The nose thing with Chet goes back to when Chet helped Rachel with the power. He told her that she would owe him and then he did the nose thing. He did it again when she saw what was going down. It was his way of saying you owe me so keep your mouth shut.

Quinn is not kind of an owner she doesn't own jack. That is why she's so pissed. The spa is the second idea Chet has stolen and she is over it. If Chet does die the Quinn will be fighting for the show against Chet's widow. That would be great as the wife is way more interesting.

Rachel and Jeremy are never going to be in a power struggle! When have we seen a dp and producer in a real power struggle? Jeremy is a bit too moral to become Quinn's right hand man. I think the tension will come from Jeremy being too interested in Rachel and Adams chemistry and Jeremy's girlfriend will finally get a clue. That is really the only reason to have his girlfriend around. She is literally the only character you never see working.

I thought the scene with Adam and the wife was one of the darkest scenes ever depicted on TV.  He really lost his soul there.
Also, I think unfortunately cocaine and drugs are a big problem in production and the show does a good job of depicting that.

I love this show. I am so addicting to it. Sam needs to have a poster to keep the rest of the panel and us fans up to date with the story lines in this show. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I think Chet is trying to one up Quinn and Rachel cause Quinn doesnt want to be his piece of ass during the season and that pisses him off. Chet is willing to do anything to be in the spotlight even sitting in while Adam is sleeping with his ex-wife in front of him. It feels like I am watching what happened behind the scenes during season 18 of the bachelor. Juan Pablo Galavis is the worst bachelor to date. They casted Adam to sorta be like JP.

I didn't find Chet likable at all.  He oozes sleaziness.
