I live out in the sticks, on the wrong side of the county road. My neighbor gets cable internet, but we can’t! Starlink is working out pretty good so far though as it’s our only option

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m in the tristate area where the infrastructure should theoretically be top of the line and my ping times are outrageously high. Turns out my service pings a Comcast server in a completely different state, the shit should be illegal, on wired connections I never see below 40ms ping times in games. This is with a gigabyte connection.

As someone without any other real alternative, Comcast has certainly worked. I do greatly appreciate their "Storm Ready" system, which is basically automatic failover to 4G when their coax connection goes down. Which it will. Because they suck. Never seen "hey, our connection is so unstable we'll even offer a backup" before....

I still wish I could get FiOS. I really miss it. Comcast's upload speeds suck as does their price if you don't want data caps.

I have better Internet in rural Arkansas than i had in any major city. Little regional isp with affordable 1G symmetrical FTTH 🤘

Practically speaking, Comcast has a complete monopoly in my neighborhood, and the service has fallen off a cliff since that happened.

I had countless issues with Comcast over 2 years and in the last 60 days out it didn't even have consistent service but I can't say my ping times were high when it did work. But I did have to make an FCC complaint in the end due to not getting service and being unable to login to view my billing online.

As someone whos used to use comcast, it's usually always was good for gaming Internet compared to spectrum which is actually much worse and thats what i use currently due to the area I currently live in used to only have spectrum. So many internet outages cause of spectrum and "weather" when weather is clear clear.

Wow more things my area might never see. People are always shocked when I tell them my entire zip code doesn’t have access to any form of cable internet. Actually it’s more than just my zip code is basically my whole county.
