As someone who read the manga, hands down to the animators nailed Vermeil's tragic history. If there were a universe in which Vermeil would meet other "villains with tragic histories", it would be the largest crossover since "Avengers: Endgame".

This kinda reminds me of that one scene from Elfen Lied. Horned little girls went berserk and slaughtered the humans that killed the ones they cared about. Bullying horned girls and killing the things they care about is the biggest mistake humans would do and brought death upon themselves

I don't mind all those who lived in this city got killed. they totally deserved what happened to them. They paid for their ignorance and cruelty. Vermeil was just a child, she didn't know how to properly control her powers. Vermeil and her '' family members'' deserved better but mostly love.
