2022 August Update:

BLACKPINK's progress is just insane, they gained 20M+ subscribers in just 2020, and surpassed justin bieber and became the most subscribed artists on youtube.

They're definitely one of the fastest growing youtube channels at the moment, they're most likely going to reach top 5-10 in 2023-2024.

So I did a breakdown as of late 2021. Every channel fits into these categories:

-1) Children's nursery rhymes and nursery shows. This makes sense since hundreds of millions of parents are busy and just want to distract their kids with cutesy (and overwhelmingly blonde) kids doing cutesy things. Going to Youtube for this is super-simple.
-2) Indian music videos and musical numbers. This makes sense since India has 1.4 billion people, and most of those people are in internet cafes wanting to listen to their favorite music. Going to Youtube for this is super-simple.
-3) Arts and crafts for kids. Again, those hundreds of millions of parents really exert a pull here.
-4) Fun game formats, like Mr. Beast and Dude Perfect. This surprises me since I was NOT expecting old-timey 1970s-style game shows to be so popular on Youtube in the 2020s.
-5) Miscellaneous music video channels for different nations like Brazil and Korea.
-6) And the ultimate survivors of the past decade on Youtube--PewDiePie and Justin Bieber. LOL.
