Souvenirs (2017 Stereo Remaster) - Barbara Evans

1959. Remaster of original rare stereo version - minor pops, clicks & dropouts have been removed as well as the outro smoothed out. Barbara Evans released a few singles in the late '50s to early '60s, all except 2 completely failing to chart. "Charlie Wasn't There" made No. 109 US in May 1961. This song, "Souvenirs" was recorded in early 1959 & only made No. 111 US in June that year. It's a pity because it deserved to be a top 10 hit. All credit goes to Barbara Evans.

Thank you for publishing this song, it's not making me any younger, many thanks !
It's the first sung version, a composition by Cy COBEN, in France Johnny Hallyday did as his friends did at the time, making a name for himself and then a career on American hits, let's give credit where credit is due... I was 7 years old, I was twisting like my big sister and big brother, a Hula Hoop for everyone, including Mum and Dad !

Cool, Tiger! My kind of song. Like "Bobby's Girl" and "I Will Follow Him". A simpler more innocent time that I am grateful to have grown up in. Sounds Great! Thank you! A day brightener, for sure.

It became a hit in France in 1962 sung by Johnny Hallyday, an idol who passed away on December 6th this year. The entire country is in mourning.

Tiger:   I have never heard of Barbara Evans, I must admit.  However, I like the song and your mix.  EDB

Cy Coben wrote a lot of wonderful songs that made it onto 45 rpm records. One that comes to mind is Jim Reeves' "If you were mine".
