Just the fact that this man had idolized Ted for so long and then to bear eyes upon what his idol had become, the only thing he could say about it, "burn it to ash" Also not even being able to see Ted and just hearing his inhuman shrieks is absolutely terrifying.

The thing that creeps me the most about this, beyond the implied body horror, beyond the hologram, beyond even the sound of him (it?) is the fact that the noises start AFTER Aloy speaks out loud.
Aloy who is a clone of Elizabet. Aloy who sounds Exactly like her.
The one Ted was clearly still thinking of when he crawled into that reactor room.
And it moved and 'spoke' when it heard what it thought was Elizabet.

That, is the really creepy part.

I got MAJOR Resident Evil vibes when I saw this scene. Half of me was hoping I would fight it, but the other half of me was terrified of having to do so.

The guy started the apocalypse then when it couldn’t be stopped he erased humanity collective knowledge because he wanted to hide his mistakes like a child.
In the end he was left alone unable to die as a cancerous growth a fate deserving a man such as himself.

I think it was a good idea not to show Ted. The small image on the screen, along with Aloy's facial expression and reaction, made this scene even more horrifying.

I love how the soldier with the torch hesitates before going in.

He was probably thinking: " Oh, god, I have to go near that?"

It's really a shame that Aloy didn't meet him face to face. It would be a powerful scene. Ted Faro was imprisoned for a thousand years in darkness and enclosed space. The door opens, he sees a person for the first time in a thousand years and it is Elisabeth Sobek's clone...
